How do I know what to reorder in Shopify?

Export three CSV files from your Shopify admin (products, inventory and orders), upload them, and ReorderOwl tells you what to reorder and how much, with a reorder workbook for every product. Today it works in ChatGPT. Claude setup is coming shortly. It is free to start, with nothing to install in Shopify. When you ask, it builds the purchase order for you to send to your supplier.
What does ReorderOwl do for Shopify stores?
ReorderOwl turns your Shopify sales and stock into a reorder plan. It forecasts each product from your order history, compares that with what you have on hand at each location, and lists what to order, how much, and from which vendor. The assistant shows the most urgent products in the chat, and the workbook covers every product and shows how each number was worked out.
It reads only the files you export. It does not connect to your store, so nothing is installed in Shopify and nothing in Shopify is changed.
Which Shopify files do I need to export?

How do I export each file from Shopify?
- Products: in Shopify admin, go to Products and click Export. Choose All products and CSV for Excel, Numbers, or other spreadsheet programs, then Export products. With many products, Shopify emails you the file.
- Inventory: go to Products, then Inventory, and click Export. Choose All locations and All states, and export as a CSV.
- Orders: go to Orders and click Export. Choose the orders by date, from the same day 3 years ago (at least 12 months back) to today, as CSV for Excel, Numbers, or other spreadsheet programs, then Export orders. Shopify emails the file to the store owner.
- Open purchase orders (optional): Shopify can't export its purchase orders, so if you have orders not yet received, type them into a sheet with the columns PO Number, Supplier, SKU, Quantity, Received and Expected arrival, and save it as .xlsx or .csv. Skip it if you have none.
- Keep the files as Shopify sends them; don't edit or rename the columns.
Every variant needs a SKU in Shopify: variants without one are left out. Online orders carry no location in the export, so with stock at several locations they count at the location holding the most stock.
How do I set it up in ChatGPT?
Create your free ReorderOwl account first and pick Shopify as your system. Your setup page shows the steps for ChatGPT, with your own connection link. Claude setup is coming shortly.
- In ChatGPT: add ReorderOwl as the setup page shows, attach the three files in a chat with ReorderOwl, and ask something like "What should we reorder this week?"
- Download the reorder workbook and review the most urgent products in the chat.
It always works on your own store's data; there is no sample mode for Shopify.
How do purchase orders work with Shopify?
When you tell the assistant to create a purchase order, ReorderOwl builds it: one order per vendor, with the products, quantities and costs. It appears in the chat and on the purchase order sheet of your workbook. You send it to your supplier. ReorderOwl works from your exported files, so nothing is written to Shopify; if you use Shopify's own purchase orders, enter it there.
What happens to my Shopify data?
ReorderOwl keeps a copy of your uploads for your company, holding only the columns it uses. Customer names, emails, phone numbers and addresses in the orders export are not kept. Built workbooks are deleted after 7 days, and each company sees only its own uploads.
Delete account on your account page removes your uploads and workbooks.

Is ReorderOwl free for Shopify?
Yes, it is free to start. You create an account, export three files from Shopify admin, and use it in ChatGPT without any call with us.
Do I need to install a Shopify app?
No. ReorderOwl works from the CSV files you export from Shopify admin, so there is nothing to install in your store.
Can ReorderOwl create purchase orders in Shopify?
It builds the purchase order for you to send to your supplier. ReorderOwl works from your exported files, so nothing is written to Shopify.
How much order history should I export?
Export the last 36 months of orders, and at least 12. More history lets the forecast see seasonality and slow sellers.
Does it keep my customers' details?
No. Only the columns used for the forecast are kept; customer names, emails, phone numbers and addresses are dropped.
